10 Reasons Why Dark Chocolate is Good For You

I know many have heard the back and forth about whether chocolate is good for you or not so I decided to look into it for you and report back my findings.
Just remember all chocolate is not made the same and not all companies use 100% dark chocolate like we do in our Medi-Gourmet line in products like Balance, Lose-It, and soon to be our the chocolate version of "Synovia" which will be called "Freedom" when the chocolate version is released.
Now let's see what surprising health benefits this dark chocolate treat may provide you.

10 Surprising Health Benefits of Chocolate.
1. A 2011 Swedish study found that women who ate more than 45 grams of chocolate per week had a 20 percent lower risk of stroke than women who treated themselves to fewer than 9 grams of chocolate. Medi-Gourmet Balance provides 6 grams of 100% dark chocolate per serving.
2. Regular chocolate eaters boost their heart health. This includes lower blood pressure, lower "bad" (LDL cholesterol), and a lower risk of heart disease.
One of the reasons dark chocolate is especially good for the heart found in it's anti-inflammatory properties which reduce cardiovascular risk. And you thought I just put Dark chocolate into Medi-Gourmet Balance just for it to taste so dreamy.
3. Did you know that dark chocolate is also rich in fiber? Well it is. Dark chocolate can actually help keep you full so you eat less.
4. Chocolate may even be helpful for those with diabetes. A small Italian study found that eating chocolate increases insulin sensitivity, thereby reducing risk of diabetes.
5. Chocolate is not going to make your skin break out so put that old wife tale to bed. But it will provide powerful antioxidants called flavonoids to your diet and will provide additional protection from UV damage from the sun.
6. For those of you with little ones running around the home that can't seem to stop coughing, How about a little piece of dark chocolate? Yep, and ingredient found in dark chocolate called "theobromine" seems to reduce the activity in the vagus nerve, the part of the brain that triggers hard to shake coughs.
7. Chocolate will enhance your positive moods and help reduce stress. Just try it, go get a good piece of dark chocolate or take a serving of Medi-Gourmet balance and tell me your meed and stress seems to just melt away for a while.
8. 100% percent dark chocolate cocoa as found in Medi-Gourmet Balance, actually has anti-clotting, blood thinning properties that work in similar ways to aspirin, but without the side effects.
9. At the University of Reading, researchers think chocolate may increase blood flow to the retina, thereby giving vision a boost.
10. Yes dark chocolate may even make you smarter. The boost of blood flow to the brain center by cocoas flavanols seem to make people feel more awake, alert and preform better on counting tasks. maybe this will help you balance your check book for 2012.
