Use of these products may pose a threat to consumers because it may interact with nitrates found in some prescription drugs (such as nitroglycerin) and may lower blood pressure to dangerous levels. Consumers with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often take nitrates. ED is a common problem in men with these conditions, and consumers may seek these types of products to enhance sexual performance.

ReplyDelete@sexyNaturally, Although I agree that the mind body connection is extremely important to the libido, there are some valid medical conditions that have nothing to do with the phyco-dynamic. People with with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease often exhibit Ed issues. After heart surgery this is very typical. it has also been noted that those that ride a bicycle with a hard seat can cut of and or permanently damage blood vessels needed to aid in an erection.
ReplyDeleteThe issue I have with drugs like Viagra, which was originally clinically studied as a heart medication failed. The clinical trials were stopped because it was not found to reduce the risk of a heart attack and could actually increase such. However, one interesting side effect noted in the study was that patients would, as a side effect, have erections. Thus the drug viagra is actually being prescribed as off label. meaning it is not being used as it's original intent, "a heart med". I can not for the life of me see how the FDA could allow a drug originally intended to reduce heart attacks, which failed, due to increase, allow it to be re-prescribed for use as an ED drug.
The danger here is that people that do not know this little known fact, could be putting themselves at greater risk of heart attacks. it is simply not worth the risk in my opinion.
